The Intentional Educator: Planning & Facilitation Skills Workshop
- Description
-
Strong facilitation is shaped by experience, reflection, and a willingness to continually refine how learning spaces are designed and led.
Join us for a brand new two-day workshop that will equip participants with a new layer of facilitation skills — increasing engagement and navigating the unknowns that come with training multidisciplinary groups.
Building on prior facilitation and planning experience, each day includes scenario-based activities, group discussions, and time to apply concepts directly to participants’ own work.
What You’ll Learn
After the workshop, participants will be better able to:
- Build self-awareness and introspection as a facilitator
- Design multilingual educational events
- Incorporate safety considerations for both participants and faculty
- Create a training evaluation plan
- Practice developing supportive and collaborative relationships with co-facilitators
- Address complex facilitation challenges
Who is this for:
- This workshop is open to Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) grantees and is best suited for educators, trainers, instructional designers, and others responsible for adult education and training. Ask your program officer for approval to use your OVW travel funds.
- This workshop is intended for those with prior facilitation experience. Those newer to the field are encouraged to explore I-LED’s foundational offerings.
- Content will primarily focus on in-person training and events, though some will also apply to a virtual environment.
Cost:
The training is provided free of charge.
Participants are responsible for their own meals, lodging, travel arrangements, and costs associated with attending.
