Virtual Event

Description

Ujima, The National Center on Violence Against Women in the Black Community, is hosting listening sessions for our project, Domestic Violence Fatality Review Teams: Ensuring Culturally Specific Responses. This project aims to establish and enhance domestic violence fatality review teams’ cultural responsiveness and community engagement. We are conducting these listening sessions to gather valuable insights that will help reduce homicides among Black and Indigenous survivors and improve the overall effectiveness of domestic violence fatality review teams across the country.   During this listening session, we want to hear from organizations that support Black and Indigenous survivors of domestic violence. We want to understand the trends, barriers, challenges, and strategies for preventing homicides in your community. We will utilize these sessions to identify gaps in culturally specific programming, document the needs of Black and Indigenous communities, and strategize the ways we can increase awareness, safety, and access to services.   Space is limited. You will receive a confirmation email once your Zoom registration is approved.   Each participant will receive a $ 50 gift card after the listening session.
