This project addresses the gap in awareness of and access to survivors employment rights and protections and builds the capacity of OVW-funded and potentially OVW-funded attorneys and advocates through trainings, technical assistance, and practical tools so that they are better able to assist survivors particularly Black, Latina, and Indigenous survivors, survivors with disabilities, survivors who are deaf, and/or LGBTQIA+ survivors with the unique challenges they face in accessing and utilizing their employment protections.

The Institute for Leadership in Education Development (I-LED) offers hands-on workshops and technical assistance to help U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) grantees to enhance the relevance and effectiveness of training and education programs supported by OVW, and improve the capacity of OVW grantees to design and deliver well-organized, accessible, highly-interactive training and education for their constituents. I-LED workshops reach national, multidisciplinary audiences of OVW grantees and their constituents, including advocates, attorneys, social workers, visitation center staff, volunteer coordinators, judges, and other professionals who engage in program design and/or faculty service.

Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting Training and Technical Assistance Project

The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) implements the National Violence Against Women Law Enforcement Training and Technical Assistance Consortium (LETTAC). Expanding Access to SAFE Technical Assistance

The National Tribal Clearinghouse on Sexual Assault (NTCSA) is a comprehensive resource hub that supports our Tribal communities with resources and education dedicated to improving the response to sexual assault. The NTCSA was developed by the Minnesota Indian Women’s Sexual Assault Coalition (MIWSAC) and the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN). IAFN hosts the Indigenous Sexual Abuse and Assault Clearinghouse (ISAAC) website, including an online learning management system (LMS), to support broadly accessible TTA to multidisciplinary audiences serving AI/AN sexual assault survivors. The ISAAC component of the NTCSA focuses on ensuring responses are culturally appropriate and on strengthening tribal medical responses to AI/AN sexual assault survivors.

Inviting Imagination: Healing Advocacy for Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse Project

The Resource Sharing Project (RSP) of the Iowa Coalition Against Sexual Assault and project partner North Carolina Coalition Against Sexual Assault (NCCASA) supports  Inviting Imagination: Healing Advocacy for Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse. This project provides training and technical assistance to victim service organizations, state and territorial coalitions, and state administrators on advocacy and healing for adult survivors of child sexual abuse and developing financial assistance programming for adult survivors of child sexual abuse. Additional, RSP and NCCASA will support pilot sites focused on developing advocacy and direct financial assistance programming for adult survivors of child sexual assault.

Restoring Dignity: Expanding Services for Currently and Formerly Incarcerated Sexual Abuse Survivors

This project provides training and technical assistance to local rape crisis centers, state sexual assault coalitions, and correctional facilities (including prisons, jails, and juvenile detention) to strengthen organizational expertise and builds community-based partnerships that address the unique needs of sexual assault survivors who are currently or formerly incarcerated.
