Thumbnail Images For Uploaded Documents

Rene is concerned about the plugin that generates thumbnail images for uploaded documents.  This feature may not work on the new ta2ta server.  If we can’t quickly resolve the issue on the new server we’ll remove the pdf image display until the issue can be resolved.

The only comment I have on this is that the PDF thumbnail display functionality is actually a server-level software issue. I assume that the plugin tries to install the server-level utilities that can generate the PDF thumbnail. It is a PHP Extension called Imagick that also needs an additional extension called Ghost Script. Those are PHP extensions that need to be installed on the server. When they are installed, PDF thumbnails work without any additional plugin installed in wordpress. You can read about that here if you’re interested:
