Summary

As line officers, detectives, investigators, other non–supervisory officers, call–takers, and dispatchers, the target audience for this project, are often the first contact victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking make with the justice system following a crime, the manner in which they respond is critical. Seven trainings will be implemented for an audience of 40 call–takers/dispatchers for the first day and 65 law enforcement personnel for the subsequent 1.5–day portion of the training. The multi–disciplinary team of instructors for each of the onsite trainings will include the law enforcement officer, prosecutor, and victim advocate consultants. In summary, during the 24–month project period, the project will develop/perform 16 deliverables, in addition to ongoing direct TA, to provide both basic and advanced T/TA that satisfies the Rural Law Enforcement purpose area of addressing the law enforcement response and investigation of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking for line officers, detectives, investigators, other non–supervisory officers, call–takers, and dispatchers.
