Description

Have domestic violence survivors ever asked you if they can leave the state or Tribal lands with their children?  Have you ever worked with a survivor who has fled to your state with their children for safety?  Do you know what to do when a court in one state has entered a custody order and a court in another state has entered a protection order about the same children? The LRC, in partnership with the Institute for Intergovernmental Research, will be offering a webinar on basic interstate custody issues. This webinar will provide participants with an overview of the various federal and state laws that govern interstate custody cases. It is designed for attorneys, victim advocates, and other community partners who wish to understand the basic framework of how these laws fit together.
