Rights & Resources: Crafting the written notification of right and options
- Description
-
The Clery Act requires that a comprehensive written explanation of rights and options be provided immediately to victims of dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking (DVSAS), regardless of whether the event took place on or off campus. When a student or employee discloses an experience of DVSAS, the institution’s initial response is a pivotal starting point in connecting survivors to systems of support. This webinar will guide attendees through the requirements of the written notification with a focus on creating a resource that builds trust and reduces re-victimization. Attendees will leave with practical steps for creating and implementing an efficient written notification process that is both compliant and ensures survivors receive the clear information they need to make informed decisions.
By attending this webinar grantees will be able to:
- Identify the required elements of the written notification of rights and options
- Outline campus and community resources that cover the full spectrum of supportive options available
- Design a resource that is clear, and accessible to ensure the written notification empowers the survivors
