Over the last decade, the legal landscape impacting gender-based violence cases in higher education has been in flux. Significant changes to Title IX, the Clery Act, and a myriad of intersecting state laws have made it difficult for attorneys to keep up. In this webinar VRLC Deputy Director and expert in education law Amanda Walsh will provide advocates who act as advisors with practical strategies and concrete tools to advocate for clients through a campus adjudication process. The session will highlight common challenges advisors face when negotiating supportive measures and throughout the investigation, hearing and appeal. Participants will be invited to join Amanda for an extended Q&A and discussion session the Thursday following the webinar. Note: This webinar is for non-attorney advocates. If you are an attorney, please register for the January 30th webinar. If you are not sure, please email ta@victimrights.org for more information before completing your registration.
