The Pets & Domestic Violence Emerging Issues Webinar will provide attendees an overview of how pet ownership affects survivors’ experiences of domestic violence, as well as best practices to use when litigating on behalf of pet-owning survivors. Topics covered will include animal abuse as a form of coercive control, the human-animal bond and survivorship, the impact of pet ownership on survivors’ ability to leave abusive situations, and litigation strategies and considerations for protection order and domestic relations cases involving pets and domestic violence.
