Summary

This project will provide specialized training and technical assistance to develop community correction strategies and enhance probation and parole officers’ response to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking. This project includes three objectives: applying harm reduction strategies, implementing the use of a trauma informed approach within the respective jurisdictions, and increasing leadership abilities to improve multidisciplinary responses. A needs assessment will be conducted to identify gaps in the field. Two national summits will be delivered which will include listening sessions, focus groups and roundtable discussions to discuss challenges as well as promising practices. The findings from the needs assessment and summits will drive the content for 3 regional trainings, distance learning offerings and customized TTA. Contacts
