This webinar is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of the unique needs and considerations when conducting medical forensic exams for Deaf survivors of sexual assault. Participants will learn how to build effective partnerships between healthcare providers, interpreters, and advocates to ensure that Deaf survivors receive comprehensive and sensitive care. The session will explore the challenges Deaf survivors face in accessing services, the importance of cultural competence, and the roles of various professionals in creating a supportive and inclusive environment. Attendees will leave with practical strategies to enhance communication, improve service delivery, and uphold the rights and dignity of Deaf survivors during the medical forensic exam process.
