The two-day virtual institute (2-13 and 2-15) on language access is specifically designed for technical assistance providers supporting direct services grantees funded under the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW). This institute aims to address critical issues at the intersections of language and cultural identity within the context of providing services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. The program will focus on key concepts of language access, the vital role of interpreters, strategies to enhance access to deaf victims, and the impact of technology on language access. Through engaging presentations, panel discussions, and interactive workshops, participants will gain the knowledge and skills to effectively support grantees in providing inclusive and culturally sensitive services to diverse linguistic communities.
