DESCRIPTION:Generative AI technologies have been rapidly adopted by many pe
 ople\, especially teenagers. This has brought forth a need for advocates w
 orking with children and youth who are experiencing dating violence\, sexu
 al assault\, and stalking to understand how these technologies can create 
 safety concerns. While tools like chatbots can empower teens with enhanced
  educational opportunities and creative expression\, they also introduce s
 ignificant risks. In this talk\, we will explore the impact generative AI 
 is already having on teenagers\, and the intersections it has with dating 
 violence\, sexual assault\, and stalking. We will examine how platforms ex
 pose teens to various vulnerabilities. Additionally\, we’ll offer practi
 cal tips for safeguarding youth against emerging threats\, including the m
 isuse of AI companions\, nudification apps\, deepfakes\, social media echo
  chambers\, and AI-enabled plagiarism.\n\n<b>Goal:</b> To increase advoca
 tes’ awareness and understanding of how artificial intelligence impacts 
 young people’s online experiences both positively and negatively by expl
 oring the connections between AI\, youth identity\, online safety\, and te
 chnology-facilitated dating violence\, sexual assault\, and stalking. This
  session aims to equip participants with practical tools and strategies to
  support youth in navigating AI-driven technologies safely\, while recogni
 zing potential risks like online harassment\, grooming\, and misinformatio
 n.
