SUMMARY:“Whatever It Takes”: Representations of Intimate Partner Stalki
 ng in Media
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\nFrom popular media to casual conversations\, the crim
e of stalking is consistently minimized and misrepresented. Oftentimes\, s
talking behaviors are shown as romantic — depicting unwanted persistence
as passionate devotion. This portrayal not only distorts public understan
ding of stalking but also reinforces harmful myths that can obscure the ve
ry real dangers of these behaviors\, particularly within the context of in
timate partner violence. This session examines different ways that stalkin
g is misconstrued and normalized and the impacts of this normalization\, e
xplores the intersection of stalking and intimate partner violence\, and o
ffers practical strategies\, tools\, and resources for how to combat this
 misinformation.\n\n\n\n\n\n
