Eligible attendees include staff of domestic violence coalitions, sexual assault coalitions, dual coalitions, and potential grantee organizations (including nonprofits and law school clinics serving survivors).
Description:
This interactive webinar for beginner and intermediate-level attorneys and DOJ accredited representatives will explore effective legal research strategies in the representation of immigrant survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Through lecture, polling, and group discussion, the webinar will discuss common legal research sources, Supreme Court precedent, and the hierarchy of authorities. We will have a special focus on tips for newer practitioners. Participants will have ample opportunities to learn from one another and share their experiences.
